Truckie booked for drug-driving

A TRUCK driver has tested positive to methamphetamine while driving a B-double north of Adelaide.

The northern suburbs man, 40, was stopped on the Sturt Hwy at Gawler, where he underwent a police drug test.

His prime mover was impounded.

The driver was bailed to appear at the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court next month.

Inspector Andrew Thiele said police would seek to impound more trucks and other heavy vehicles where the driver was detected driving and taking illicit drugs.
